GOODBYE SATNAV, HELLO CATNAV... - May 18th, 2009
CARLSBERG LAUNCHES IRELAND’S FIRST EVER LIVE MOBILE TWITTER FEEDS FOR CARLSBERG CAT LAUGHS
Carlsberg today launched Carlsberg CatNAV – comedy on the go - bringing laughter and live mobile twitter feeds to consumers’ fingertips. Consumers will be able to access live mobile twitter feeds for the first time in Ireland, with many of the 62 comedians at the Carlsberg Cat Laughs festival lined up to provide regular tweets.
Developed to support the Carlsberg Cat Laughs comedy festival, CatNAV is the first mobile application of its kind developed by a drinks brand in Ireland. It allows comedy fans to download a mini guide to the Carlsberg Cat Laughs festival including maps, line-ups and personalised gig alerts.
A general comedy area provides a mini sound board where consumers can select various types of laughter and funny sound effects to create their own comedy. So, for laughter at the touch of a button simply free text CATNAV to 50422 from 18th May or get the application via Bluetooth at the event.
Carlsberg Senior Brand Manager Laura Douglas commented, at the launch,

This innovative application was developed by mobile advertising agency Return2Sender and will be supported with above the line and below the line activity including online and mobile advertising.
